Stained Glass

Phil began his stained glass career back in the early 70’s where he immortalized a marijuana leaf between 2 pieces of glass. His interest in glass did not fully develop until during a sales call when he was employed with Shaw Cable he met a WWII veteran. The veteran appropriately named Art, not only had many stories about the war, he also gave stained glass lessons and sold glass. He and Phil became fast friends and his hobby began. He is basically self-taught, and with the help of You Tube videos has perfected his own style and technique. He has made numerous panels which hang in every window of our house, along with small sun-catchers, and mosaics using up the small pieces of glass in concrete. His favorite mosaic is his Canuck coffee table. He has also given many panels and sun-catchers away as gifts. His sister also commissioned him to make a stained glass window for her house. He continues to develop his craft with more detailed projects every few months. Retirement suits him, gives him purpose and also puts a few extra dollars in his pocket which, of course, he uses to buy more glass!
